Communicating with Adolescents - Research

Founded in 1965, Diabetes WA is the peak body and voice of diabetes in Western Australia. Their work focuses on minimising the impact of diabetes in Western Australia, which they strive to achieve by, amongst other initiatives, providing a range of support and education services.

Project Objective

Market Fever was engaged to assist Diabetes WA with providing research on what type of Internet sites and applications adolescents are using. Diabetes WA were to use this knowledge when developing marketing strategies and activities for the UCook program – an initiative established under the National Partnership Agreement on Preventative Health (NPAPH) Healthy Children to contribute to healthy development and prevention of chronic diseases in children and young people in Western Australia – to the adolescents in WA.

Project Scope

This particular project required Market Fever to research innovative, successful media campaigns targeting young people in order to provide Diabetes WA with an overview of what engages young people, what attracts their attention and how to create behavioural change.

Project Outcomes

Market Fever provided Diabetes WA with a report summarising the media usage, ratings and best, most successful media campaigns / media approached targeting young people. With this background information, Market Fever was able to make target specific recommendations to Diabetes WA.
